Krabi International (KBV) is small and the exit is quick, but where you are going is not: Ao Nang is half an hour away, and Railay cannot be reached by road at all — you finish the journey on a longtail boat from Ao Nang or Krabi Town. A shared airport minibus, a metered taxi or a ride-hailing pickup are the usual choices, and getting the right one depends on knowing your onward boat timing.

SIM counters in the arrivals area do exist, with passport registration, but they are few and a single wide-body arrival clears them slowly. Railay, hemmed in by limestone cliffs and reachable only by sea, gets a workable signal on the beaches but has genuine shadowed pockets under the karst walls. Out on the water the picture is what you would expect: the run to Koh Poda and Chicken Island stays partly in range, while the longer crossings to Koh Lanta, Koh Jum and Koh Phi Phi lose service in mid-channel and recover near land. Inland, Khao Phanom Bencha and the hot springs area are thinner.
