Krabi eSIM — plans from ₹299.00

Prepaid data for Krabi, delivered as a QR code by email before you fly. The same Thailand eSIM covers the whole country.

Krabi eSIM plans

Buying takes you to the Thailand eSIM page — plans are country-wide, so Krabi is fully covered.

Arriving in Krabi: airport SIM counters vs eSIM

Krabi International (KBV) is small and the exit is quick, but where you are going is not: Ao Nang is half an hour away, and Railay cannot be reached by road at all — you finish the journey on a longtail boat from Ao Nang or Krabi Town. A shared airport minibus, a metered taxi or a ride-hailing pickup are the usual choices, and getting the right one depends on knowing your onward boat timing.

SIM counters in the arrivals area do exist, with passport registration, but they are few and a single wide-body arrival clears them slowly. Installing an eSIM at home on Wi-Fi removes that step; it lies dormant until the handset first registers on a Thai network after landing, and the plan's validity begins at that moment rather than at purchase. With data live you can check the last boat to Railay, message a guesthouse and follow the coast road without guesswork. Plans are on the Thailand page, and Phuket is a common pairing.

Coverage in Krabi and around

Krabi is well served by AIS, True and NT along the developed coast, with 5G in Krabi Town, Ao Nang and around the airport, and dependable 4G across Klong Muang and Tubkaek. Railay, hemmed in by limestone cliffs and reachable only by sea, gets a workable signal on the beaches but has genuine shadowed pockets under the karst walls. Out on the water the picture is what you would expect: the run to Koh Poda and Chicken Island stays partly in range, while the longer crossings to Koh Lanta, Koh Jum and Koh Phi Phi lose service in mid-channel and recover near land. Inland, Khao Phanom Bencha and the hot springs area are thinner.

Staying connected in Krabi: practical tips

Download the whole Krabi coastline offline, including Koh Lanta if you are heading there, because pier names and beach access tracks are easy to confuse. The apps that need data here are boat and ferry booking pages, tide and weather forecasts, ride-hailing where it is available, and translation at the night market. Resort Wi-Fi in Ao Nang is generally fine in-room and drops away at the beach end of the property, so a hotspot from the eSIM keeps a laptop usable. Sea spray and heat are hard on phones, so a waterproof pouch and a power bank both earn their place on island-hopping days. Sibling notes at Koh Samui.

Krabi eSIM FAQ

Does the eSIM work at Railay Beach?

Yes, on the main beaches and around the resorts, though the limestone cliffs create shadowed spots where the signal fades. Railay has no road access, so download your boat timings and accommodation details before you take the longtail across from Ao Nang.

Can I use it on the ferry to Koh Lanta or Phi Phi?

Only in parts. Coverage holds near the Krabi shore and again as you approach the islands, but the middle of each crossing is out of range. Save tickets, maps and pickup details offline so an hour without signal is not a problem.

Is 5G available in Krabi?

Yes, in Krabi Town, Ao Nang and the airport area. Elsewhere along the coast and on the islands the connection is 4G, which is entirely adequate for navigation, booking and video calls. The handset switches between them automatically.

Will one plan cover Krabi and a move on to Phuket?

It will. Plans are country-wide, so travelling on to Phuket, Khao Lak or Bangkok uses the same data with no reconfiguration. The eSIM simply attaches to whichever local network is strongest as you move between provinces.
