Who needs a Global eSIM?
A global plan is for the itinerary that will not sit inside one region. A round-the-world ticket that goes London, Dubai, Singapore, Sydney and Los Angeles crosses four continents in six weeks, and no regional bundle covers it. A consultant doing a month of client visits across Europe, the Gulf and East Asia has the same problem, as does anyone whose next flight depends on a meeting that has not happened yet. So does the frequent flyer who wants one eSIM sitting permanently on the phone, topped up before each trip, rather than a fresh purchase every fortnight.

Regional vs single-country eSIM
Mechanically a global plan behaves like a very wide regional one. The profile stays installed, and each time you land in a country on its list the eSIM registers on a partner network there without any reinstall or new QR code. Data is pooled worldwide: a heavy week of tethering in Frankfurt leaves less for Bangkok, but nothing is stranded in a country you have left. Worldwide does not mean every country. Global bundles typically list a large but finite set of markets, and the usual absences are sanctioned countries, mainland China in some cases, and a scattering of small island territories. Does a global eSIM change networks automatically in every country?

Does the data pool worldwide?

What if a country on my route is not on the global plan's list?

Is a global plan cheaper than buying separate plans?

Is 5G included on a global plan?

Can I hotspot on a long work trip?
