The Turquoise Coast funnels through Antalya Airport (AYT), which handles an enormous seasonal volume of charter and scheduled flights. Most arrivals here are not heading into Antalya itself but out along the coast to Belek, Side, Alanya, Kemer or Kas, which can mean a transfer of two hours or more. That is the crux of the connectivity question: a pre-booked hotel transfer that has moved its meeting point, or a driver you need to reach, is a much bigger problem an hour down the coast road than it is in a city. Turkish tourist SIMs are sold at the airport, but they are registered against your passport and the handset rules make it a slower purchase than it looks. An eSIM installed at home on Wi-Fi is already in place and simply activates when your phone first registers on a Turkish network after landing, with validity starting then. Into the city itself, the tram from the airport runs towards the centre, and licensed taxi apps operate locally.

Turkcell, Vodafone and Turk Telekom all serve the Antalya region, and the eSIM roams to the strongest partner signal. LTE is fast and consistent along the whole developed coastal strip — Konyaalti and Lara beaches, the Kaleici old town, and the resort corridors east and west — because tourism density justifies heavy investment. What thins out is everything vertical and inland. The Taurus mountains rise steeply behind the coast, and signal drops in Koprulu Canyon, on the rafting sections of the Kopru river, in the upper Duden valley and along the switchbacks towards Pamukkale. Ancient sites such as Termessos, high on its ridge, and stretches of the Lycian Way have little or none. Everything runs on the Turkiye plan.

Download offline maps of the full coastal road from Kemer to Alanya, not just your resort, plus any canyon or mountain route you plan to take — that is where coverage genuinely disappears. Data matters for transfer coordination, boat trip and rafting bookings, translation at markets, and museum or ruin entry tickets held on the phone. Resort Wi-Fi is good in rooms and around pools, and weaker on the beach and in the far corners of large complexes.
