Canada is where many visitors spend their longest trip abroad: three weeks with a son or daughter at university in Toronto or Vancouver, a family wedding in Brampton or Surrey, or a slow loop through the Rockies. Long stays magnify the connectivity decision. Canadian mobile plans are among the most expensive in the world, so a local prepaid SIM costs more than its equivalent in Europe or Asia, while home-carrier roaming packs priced by the day stop making sense after the first week. There is no ID requirement for a Canadian prepaid SIM, but the carrier shops sit in malls, and the arrivals hall at Pearson (YYZ) is not where you want to start shopping.
