Best eSIM for Tajikistan

Almost nobody comes to Tajikistan for the cities. The trip is the Pamir Highway — days of driving between Dushanbe, Khorog and the Wakhan valley, with the Afghan border on one side and passes above four thousand metres on the other — or the Fann Mountains and Iskanderkul. That means long stretches with no signal at all, and it makes the connected hours disproportionately valuable: telling a driver where you are, confirming a homestay in Murghab, letting family know you emerged from a week with no contact. Plan for a long validity window. Pamir trips run two weeks or more once you allow for road conditions, and a plan that expires in Khorog is difficult to replace. Data use is unusual here: nearly all of it happens in Dushanbe and Khorog, where you download offline maps, satellite imagery and route notes, then upload the photographs from the previous stretch. Between those points you use almost nothing because there is nothing to connect to. Choose a plan that allows hotspot if you are in a shared jeep and the group depends on one connection. There is no need for a Tajik number, since drivers and homestays are arranged in person or by messaging. Realistically that means solid service in Dushanbe and Khujand, workable service in Khorog and the larger Pamir settlements, and long gaps everywhere else. The Wakhan corridor, the Bartang valley and the high sections of the M41 have little to no coverage, and that will not change during your trip.
